Pac-Man

| | | | | | | |

Michael O'Brian shares his experience with me: "Last night the moderator pointed out that my opinions are not shared by the Hartford Coffee House after my presentation of my environmental poem "The Pac Man" and my essay about the power of our personal occupations."

Rick Gold has questions about Japan's Nuclear Crisis

Nuclear News for Today: "Japanese Nuclear Plant Starts Pumping Millions of Gallons of Radioactive Water Into Pacific."
Some questions to ponder ...How much and of what kind of Nuclear Waste is present in the water? How far will it go in the Ocean currents? How long will it last in the food chain? And, when these millions of gallons are released and millions more replace them and will be released again, what Nuclear Waste will be carried into the ocean then?

SURE-FIRE SOLUTION FOR OUR ECONOMY

| | | | | |

Hey, you working mom. Hey, you university student. Hey, you laid-off factory people and you small business owners and you folks that shop at Super Walmart. Hey, you taxi drivers and waitresses and independent architects and service providers and small organic farmers and people on welfare and people needing help with your medical expenses...

Let's quit being so damned selfish and admit it; all those warm and fuzzy human services we are begging for are much too expensive.

Don't Repeal Medical Marijuana

Watching the hearings on HB 161 to repeal the Medical Marijuana law

Medical Marijuana, TEA Parties, and ALEC

I thought I'd seen and heard it all from the "conservative," TEA, "right to lifers" of Montana, but the testimony supporting HB 161 to repeal Montana's medical marijuana law defies belief.

Massey Energy - the American Taliban

| | |

Pat Lamarche, the Green Party candidate for VP in the 2004 presidential election, remembers the world outrage when the Taliban exploded priceless centuries-old Bamiyan Buddhas that had been carved into the side of a mountain in Afghanistan. Now Massey Energy plans to blow up one of the most historically and spiritually significant places in the United States, where 10,000 Americans stood together and were bombed by an earlier incarnation of corporate greed.

to be independent is to question the message

When are at least a few people in this country going to figure out that there is more difference between a glass of Miller Lite and a glass of Bud Lite than there is between a Democrat Politician and a Republican Politician?

Money doesn't just rule politicians, it controls the public. All political movements with any punch have major funding from extremely wealthy power brokers. The latest, the TeaBaggers, are a classic example. All the so-called progressive groups have big bucks behind them that -as far as I can tell- comes from vested interests.

Support Green Party Candidate Cheryl Wolfe in HD 11

| | |

Since the 2000 election, Greens have been working to regain some of the momentum and public support from that historic event in American politics.

In Montana a core group of activists have had their hands full simply maintaining the most rudimentary elements of a Green political party. Some great people remained on board, some have moved on, or away from politics altogether. Losses have been replaced with a new group of Greens with new ideas for how to put Montana on a better path than the one we're on.

This site is quite tasteful

... and that's about it.

...Well, it does work slick as can be. Some nice programming here. But it has some needs.

Is it time to impeach Bush? Again? What's he done lately?
Etc.
We need more color. More pictures. Some writing. Some art.

Abolish Corporate Personhood

The history of the United States could be told as the story of who is and who is not a person under law. Women, poor people, slaves, and even corporations had long been considered persons for purposes of following the law. This is because early laws were written "No person shall . . ." Corporate lawyers had tried to avoid these laws by claiming corporations were not persons and therefore not required to follow the law. So it was decided that for purposes of following the law, corporations were persons. This allowed corporations to sue and be sued in court among other things.

Obama's bait and switch

a few points: Face it - Obomba has pulled the "bait-and-switch on us! The amounts of derivitives (phony money - basically a bet on a bet on a bet on whether a stock will go up or down) is around 500 trillion....the world economy is around 60 trillion.... The Elizabeth Warren sponsered Consumer Finance Protection Agency as written by the fascists in Congress-chief among them Chris Dodd-a democrat, will be an "independent" beyond the purview of the Congress, have unlimited funds and be non-auditable and appointed by the President - that sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.......
