Bees In My Garden

Since we talked earlier on Sam's blog about Colony Colapse Disorder, I am pleased to report that a number of wild bees have found their way to my little garden. There have been a few as different plants flowered, but now they're all out for the English Lavender. They're very busy collecting pollen.

Since honey bees are disappearing in many areas around the world, we should all take care of the ones that find their way into our gardens. Honey bees rarely sting; it's the yellow jackets and wasps you have to look our for. Don't swat bees or make sudden moves. Just move slowly and calmly around them, and they'll just collect their pollen and move on.
