Any Candidates For The US House Seat?
Submitted by pjfinn on 10 January 2008 - 5:41pm.
Here's a post I also posted at buzztail today, but I want to bring it up here too:
There was an interesting question brought up in the comments to last night's post on the Green Party. It was asked that now, with no real opposition to Denny Rehberg from the Democrats, wouldn't it be a great time for the Montana Green Party to run a high profile campaign for the US House?
I think it's a great idea and deserves some serious consideration. Any of you Green Party folks out there have any thoughts on this? Any plans? Is it in the works and I've just missed it? What do you think? Feel free to weigh in on the idea right here --

Chris, the simplest way to comment on a blogger post, if you don't want to go through the steps of creating an identity, is to sign in as anonymous and put your name at the end of the comment. Now a question. Is ballot access absolutely necessary? Is an aggressive write-in campaign a possibility? Couldn't that go a long way towards building visibility and street level support? Is it even doable? Just asking...

Candidate for the House
First we would have to regain our ballot access. Right now, it doesn't look like we're going to make it. I was unable to leave a comment on your blog, so you have my permission to post this on it. Tell heartland1 if he wants to see Green candidates on the ballot, we need bodies getting signatures, not money. So go to www.mtgreens.org and sign the "Join Us" box, and we'll email you the forms to get started. We only have until the first week of March. We just don't have enough people who are willing to get off their asses and collect the signatures the State requires to get on the ballot.
