Fellow Montana Greens,

Several weeks ago Chris Frazier, MGP Secretary, announced our next (annual) meeting and several business items we must address. Frankly, the response has been underwhelming.

We have reserved the 3rd floor meeting room in the Parmley Billings Library from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, May 24th. The address is 510 N Broadway. There has been some recent posts on the listserv to change the meeting to a different city. We will make a change here if that happens.

Proposed agenda items:

·Bylaws changes for national convention delegate selection

·Elect officers and other positions (1-year terms)

Officers: Co-ordinator, Treasurer, Secretary
2 Delegates to the GPUS National Committee
8 Delegates to the GPUS National Nominating Convention in Chicago in July 2008 (4 can be proxies)
1 person to lead the next signature drive for the 2010 election

Please feel free to add any agenda items to this list.

Chris has said she will not serve another year as Secretary, and I will not serve another term as co-chair. The Treasurer would also like to be replaced. So, there are opportunities for persons who would like to guide the Montana Green Party into the future, perhaps in a new direction. Some of those who have expressed an interest in local, grassroots “party building” may want to step forward to lead the group. If nobody is interested in continuing a statewide party structure, it seems to me pointless to continue.

I welcome your comments, ideas and participation in the upcoming annual gathering of the Montana Green Party.

Steve Kelly, Co-ordinator, Bozeman

Joining the MGP

If you want to attend the meeting, but have not joined the MGP, go to "Join Us" in the Menu and fill out the form. When we receive the form, we will send you an invitation to join the listserv.

I will not be able to serve as Secretary or Delegate this year because of the time involved, since I'm having work done on my house, and then will have surgery in September. I will continue as Moderator of the MGP listserv and the Yellowstone County listserv, and as one of four website administrators,

Chris Frazier, MGP Secretary
